Printing For The Arts

Frequently asked questions

What files can I upload? Do I need to format things a special way?

PDF is preferred, along with native files (.ai, .psd, .indd, .zip).

Please ensure any images are of the highest possible resolution. CMYK color space is ideal.

If you're printing a program, order your PDF pages as they should appear in the booklet; cover first, rear cover last.

We'll fix bleed, margins, and other details on our end to make sure it looks the best it can when it goes to print.

How long until it ships? What does the order process look like?

We review your order within a week of submission, and check your file. We send an invoice once it's approved and any adjustments are applied. Once we receive payment, we send it to print; most orders within 10 days of submission.

How is it so cheap?

Printing For The Arts charges wholesale prices plus a small markup to cover the costs and time necessary to maintain the service.

When I produced my first play, the biggest surprise was how expensive it was to print our programs. I love physical programs, but for many it's cost-prohibitive. My goal is to provide artists and arts organizations with affordable printing services.
